Professional Biography

André is a C-Level executive with 28 years of international experience across various industries, encompassing full P&L responsibility. He is Brazilian and has also lived and worked across innumerous markets in Latin America, Asia, Germany and Switzerland.

He has been President, Board Member, Regional CMO, Marketing Vice- President, Director, and currently leverages his extensive experience to help senior executives, as a C-Level Consultant and Mentor.

His executive experience ranges from strategic planning to operations, with particular depth in all marketing disciplines, including digital marketing, trade, public relations, corporate social responsibility, corporate communication, brand strategy and repositioning, launches, brand extensions, media and investment planning, advertising, promotion, product innovation, development and testing, portfolio and price management, consumer research and competitive intelligence.

André has acquired extensive experience across various industries: consumer goods (CPG/FMCG), mobile products, consumer electronics, marketing services and automotive.

Relevant accomplishments

As President Beverages and Meals for Mondelez LA, a US$ 1B business, André has efficiently led all functions and teams: Strategy, Innovation, R&D, Marketing, Market Research, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Procurement, Finance, Legal, Human Resources and Public Relations. He has successfully merged two BUs (juices and desserts), optimizing the organizations and processes. He has also redesigned the category strategy, portfolio and upgraded product quality and improved gross margin, while redefining the brand positioning for Tang, Clight and Fresh. He led the launch of multiple innovations and line extensions, developing new partnerships for optimized routes-to-market (RTM).

Earlier on, as a Regional CMO for Samsung LA and Alcatel Mobile, André has had the opportunity to redesign their entire marketing, PR and trade processes and organizations. Along 5 years, in both companies, André has led the development of successful campaigns, promotions, events, digital marketing, including Alcatel’s global brand relaunch, and the full relaunch of Samsung’s brand stores. He’s also developed and launched various new products, successfully entering markets and efficiently managing portfolio roadmaps for all the electronic products (mobile, tablet, TV, white goods, laptop, etc.).

During his 12 years at Unilever, as Marketing VP and Director, André has led innumerous innovation launches, campaigns, promotions, brand extensions, strategy reviews, for huge brands like Dove, Rexona, Lifebuoy, Lux, Axe, Pond’s, Vasenol, Close-Up, Pepsodent, Gessy, Vinolia, St Ives and Fofo, among others. Worth highlighting the launch of full new brands/ranges e.g. Lifebuoy, Rexona Teens and Dove Baby, and the integration of the acquired St Ives brand and organization.

Finally, after graduating, André had spent 9 years in the automotive sector, firstly as an Export Sales Coordinator at Mercedes-Benz, then as a Brand Manager at General Motors Brazil and Opel Germany (expat).

André is an enthusiastic, committed and hands-on executive, who really likes to engage and work tightly together with his teams, regardless of hierarchy or function.

He loves to learn throughout his life, having obtained an MSc as Mechanical Engineer at Poli/USP, followed by graduations in Business and in Marketing at FAAP, a full MBA at IMD (Switzerland), and various courses and further specializations from FGV, University of Virginia Darden, and IBGC (Conselheiro Administrativo).

André is currently pursuing online courses about Agile, Big Data Analytics, Digital Transformation, Strategic Consulting Frameworks, and Martech (Marketing Technology Platforms).
